**Frequently Asked Questions**
**1. What is electroforming?**
Electroforming is a process that uses an electric current to coat a surface with metal, creating a durable and unique piece of jewelry. Each piece is built up slowly, allowing for intricate details and textures to emerge. This process gives our jewelry its one-of-a-kind, organic feel. We offer copper and silver electroformed jewelry at this time.
Copper will be a solid copper base and will not wear off although it can patina as all copper does, please view the care sheet to help prevent this.
Silver jewelry is a silver plate over copper, we strive to have as thick of a coat as possible to help prevent migration. Eventually with heavy wear you will see the copper come through but we can absolutely replate the piece for you. Proper care will extend the life of the silver plating. Please reach out via email for questions or to have a piece replated, a small fee will apply if it is more than 180 days from the date of purchase.
**2. Where do you find your stones?**
We handpick all of our stones during our outdoor adventures, hunting for natural treasures in forests, rivers, and mountains. Every stone has its own story, making each piece truly unique.
**3. Are all your pieces one-of-a-kind?**
Yes! Every piece of jewelry we create is one-of-a-kind. The stones, shapes, and designs are never duplicated. You won’t find mass-produced items here!
**4. How should I care for my electroformed jewelry?**
To keep your electroformed jewelry looking its best, avoid exposure to water, chemicals, and perfumes. Clean it gently with a soft cloth, and store it in a dry, cool place when not wearing it. Copper naturally oxidizes over time, so if you like the look of shiny copper, you can polish your piece with a jewelry cloth. We will include a small bag with your order that is lined with material that actually helps keep your piece from tarnishing. You will also receive a care sheet
**5. Do you take custom orders?**
I am happy to work with you to design and create your own custom piece. Just send me a message or email and we can chat. An initial deposit is required before work can begin. We also have a listing for a surprise me piece where you can tell me your favorite color and your kind of style and I will create something completely unique for you.
**6. How long does shipping take and how are my purchases shipped?**
We ship non-custom orders via USPS First Class within 1-4 business days. Custom orders may take longer, depending on the project. If you need expedited shipping, please email us, and we can arrange it for you (extra charges may apply). Please view our shipping policy page for more information.
Most pieces are shipped first class in a bubble mailer or small box, while some larger or more expensive pieces are shipped using priority mail. Your piece will be shipped using the least amount of packaging necessary for its protection unless you upgrade to gift packaging.
**7. Can I add a gift message? What about gift wrap?**
A: Packaging is very simple, but I have a few upgraded packaging options for gifts and I am happy to include a gift message.
**8. Do you have a store or do local events?**
Yes, we are in the Midland, Texas area but often do markets all over west Texas. If you know of a great event in your area, please let us know! We will post on Facebook and Instagram what events we will be at as well as having the list up on our website. Unfortunately, at this time we do not have a brick-and-mortar storefront.
**8. Where do you source your animal parts? Do you kill them? **
A: No! Some pieces, like bones and skulls, are hand collected from my adventures the same as the rocks. Sometimes they are gifted to me. Insects are always collected after their natural death, either by me or by others who bring them to me. Bees are either gifted to me by local beekeepers or purchased from a beekeeper here in Texas after they pass naturally. I will never harm a living being for my art.
**9. Do you accept payment plans?**
A: Yes, we accept several payment plans please check out our options when checking out.
